There are a few things on my mind today that need to be blogged out at some point, but I'm not going to take the time right now to think it all through. Among the topics swirling around in my head today:
- Engaging more fully with my study of the Book of Mormon. We have a wonderful Sunday School teacher who is completely motivating in the way she thoroughly loves the book. It makes me want to know it as well as she does.
- Faith and the miracles it can assist in when mine is functioning properly
- Acid reflux and the mystery it might be concerning my baby.
- The power of a priesthood blessing and the things that make it effective
- Getting our stars/marbles in place for Cooper to earn his way to something... haven't decided yet what would be incentive enough to get this program running yet.
- Establishing a field trip day maybe twice a month to help us enjoy the things our city has to offer, and something to look forward to...
- Being more consistent with my energy circles, refining them so they can bless me.
- Writing thank-yous
- Getting my bedroom clean, which is what I'm off to take care of next.
there is discrepency in my mind regarding our trials and the purpose for them in our lives. I truly believe that we go through things to learn lessons Heavenly Father would have us learn, but I also believe that it's possible to learn those same lessons in a way in which fewer people have to suffer, but I think we have to be in the right frame of mind to learn those things without being put through the "refiner's fire," so to speak. I think a great deal of the things that cause us stress, pain and anxiety can be lifted if we know how to summon Heaven's powers in our lives... haven't quite worked this one out in my head thoroughly, but it's one those things swimming in there today.

Amberly, our finite minds cannot possible understand in our present state "why"! That is the purpose of being here. We must rely on faith (as you described it so well--including action) while we are here. The ability to summons Heaven's powers in our lives, comes with practice. Record the times it happens to you and you will some day see how your ability to call upon those powers has increased.
How are the purees in your food for Cooper going? I hope he loves it, and doesn't know anything about it for a while! I especially love the french toast and the spaghetti ideas...so easy and the texture is flawless...
I love your gratitute blogs, as well as "things to get done" lists...I may start doing the same thing to keep me on track!
I have also wanted to get a monthly field trip going. I would love to have it be a set day and then everyone can plan. I am thinking 1st Friday of each month? Now who is going to organize it?? :)
I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only mom out there who adores their children, but honestly is sometimes driven to the brink of insanity by the little cherubs. Maybe for your field trip idea you could plan with a bunch of other moms and plan on a set day, then rotate who is going to plan the event, that way it doesn't fall totally on your shoulders..., just a thought.
I liked your list of topics that are on your mind. Many of them seem similar to the things I would like to do more of or find better ways to do them! I'm sure there are many women who look up to you for all the things you do now; and I guess there's always things we hope to be better at. Good thing the life expectancy has increased to allow us time to keep trying!
