Navajo tradition has prevented me from having this little boy's hair cut until now. Legend states that if you cut a child's hair before they speak, you are cutting off their ability to talk at all. While I was loving the soft baby hair, it was starting to drive me crazy. I have respect for the tradition (although don't actually believe that my child wouldn't ever speak if not followed), and therefore waited... somewhat impatiently, for this child to speak something, anything to warrant a haircut. We've safely got uh-oh, mama and dada down, so off it came!

so clean-cut around the ears!

HOORAY!
The Hair looks great. He looks very nice. In the last photo I can see Cooper in his face, they are defintatly brothers.
Happy Day. I forgot about the tradition and was wondering what was keeping you from a cut. I was seriously worried that Annika would show up on your doorstep on day and insist on getting at him!
I appreciate your respect for the tradition -- really, I do. I can also appreciate your happiness with being able to cut it! It was getting long! Could you imagine if I'd had to wait to cut Zack's hair until he spoke?!? He's like a Chia-Pet...
whoa. i didn't realize the level of mullet bex had going on. i can't believe how much he looks like coop now! more room to kiss the cheeks now, can't wait!
He couldn't be any cuter!!!
Wow did you cut his hair? It looks awesome! I wish L had that much hair.
looks great! question: do you get extra points if your kid doesn't get a haircut until he is, oh, maybe 3 yrs old? to be clear, this is not because the parent loves long hair, but rather due to the lack there of. what does navajo tradition say about these kiddos.
