Memories...

Ode to Jackie, Alicia and so on...

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

p.s. for those of you who knew me in high school, please be gentle. I have actually managed to gather a bit of dignity and respect since then, believe it or not!

Amberly, I remember the first time I sat in a group with you. It was the night I came to Girl's Night Out when I had been called to be Relief Society President and I didn't know very many people in the Ward and no one knew I had been called yet. I went home that night and told Tarzan that I had just met the neatest lady. She has the ability to direct a conversation so that everyone has a chance to participate. She made everyone feel a part of the group. I was very impress. It was you, of course.

We took the boys to the zoo, you told me you don't much care for fruit. I thought you were crazy. Turns out, you're not too bad... ;)

I remember you giving a talk in our singles ward sacrament meeting when you were about...I don't know...12? Does that sound right? You were so serious and poised.

I think I remember the Girls Night Sandi is talking about...one of your questions was about what the most "cultured" thing we do/did? Something like that. I remember laughing at you & asking if Suns games counted. CUlture? Please! Thank heavens Jackie was headed the same direction as me with her ASU football games. I guess you're friends are just a bunch of hilbillies!

Hmm...how about your "social experiment" at the college dance where you made-out with Denten on the dance floor and it was my job to watch the reactions of people around you.

This is easy. Mountain Biking down Brundage Mountain and you launching over your handle bars. I still laugh when I remember it. (of course it's only funny because you weren't hurt!)

Okay, so I remember in 5th or 6th grade we would go to the mall and get our pictures taken at woolworths. Then we would buy a bag of Hershey Kisses and hangout in your bedroom. How much fun was that?!

I guess everyone will remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when you shared your pregnancy news of Beckham — including me, dumbfounded, standing out by your pool, when you had to spell it out that Seneca wouldn't be the youngest baby in the family. Ha!

Oops, that was ME, not Nick.

I remember you in the 6th grade. I was jealous because you looked hotter than me in your striped, pegged girbauds (sp?) and braided leather belt. Oh, and your bangs were always rockin'. Remember the feeling of having a great "bang day"? Talk about radiating confidence. Love you!

I remember you and Denten giving amazing testimonies in our Manhattan ward about missionary work! You were so inspiring! I also remember you training for a marathon (half-marathon?) and how precise you were about distances. You clipped your digital jogging measurement device on your shoes with such dedication! Oh, and the book club you organized! I noticed you never really read the month's book and were always so eager to change the subject to something non-book related. I realized it was just a thinly-veiled excuse to get together and chat. When I set up a book club in LA I remembered that. We had the funnest chats, but I can't remember most of the books!

I remember taking you dinner or something right after you moved in the ward and thinking you were such a nice person. I also remember a couple of random ward book club discussions and how interesting and fun you are to talk with. :)
