should you choose to accept...

It's November and I've got a challenge for you!! Can you sense my enthusiasm?! Feel it, people, and then get on board! It's an easy challenge. Really, super easy.

Every day this month, record five things you're grateful for. No stipulations, they can be anything at all, as long as you feel some measure of gratitude for them. people, things, places, events... if you blog, throw your five up here. if you don't, write them down. you know, the ol' fashioned pen and paper way.

I could try to get the whole gosh darn blogging world on board, but really, all I want is to take a minute every day to think about how good I've got it and not focus on all the things that are potential problems. So come on... who's in??

Here's my Nov. 1 list:

- I'm grateful for Leslie. She inspired this post, acually. She's my cousin, kind of. I will admit to the fact that I've never actually met her, but I know her anyway. You really can know a person through a blog... really! I have an idea of what kind of mother she is and it's inspiring. She loves her children and knows how to appreciate the little moments with them. There is love in her home that I can feel through the computer. And she married my crazy cousin Jim.. that's reason enough to admire the woman!!

- I'm grateful that someone listened to me in singing time today. It was a rough one! I was bored, so you know the kids were bored... But on the way home, Cooper started singing the song we'd been practicing in the back seat. Hallelujah, it sunk in someone's head! Bless his little soul.

- I'm grateful for the dedication of my children's father. He was gone for 11 hours yesterday, 112 miles on the bike and a 12-mile run and you better believe that he was beat when he got home. However, it was halloween and he geared up and enjoyed the evening with his littles. We all went trick-or-treating, he helped with costumes, bathtime and getting everyone to bed. Bless his soul, too!

- I'm grateful for health insurance. I don't have a reason to need it at the moment, but I've been approved for a new policy that will save my family money and I'm glad I have it should the need arise.

- I'm grateful for Beckham's easy going nature. He wore a gorilla suit for two nights in a row and was the most pleasant little monkey you've ever seen. He goes with the flow, loves his siblings and gives the best hugs in the world. I'm super grateful Heavenly Father sent him to my house for a while 'cause he's pretty much the best.

ok, your turn!! come on, be grateful. it's good for you, you know.

Haha! I liked your Jim comment. It's true you know, some days I really feel like I deserve some kind of metal for putting up with his antics! Thanks for all the nice things you said about me, my home, and my blog. Made my day! :) You're great!

Have you ever read, "Simple Abundance, A Daybook of Comfort and Joy" by Sarah Ban Breathnach. It's great and in it she talks about doing the same thing, it's called a gratitude journal. It's a great way to really think about all you have to be thankful for! In our ward last Sunday (i got to teach the lesson) but it was about Gratitude for Personal Revelation...which is a topic I am grateful for! We handed out a Gratitude Journal to every Sister at church. Perfect thing to focus on this November.
