projects

Here’s the thing.  Since I stumbled upon instagram, I have taken to posting my life as it happens… there.  not here.  so bear with me while I catch up here.

I am in a quilt group.  For real.  I’m not 60 and I’m not a seamstress, but I actually kinda love it.  I figured if I jumped in on this project it would give me an excuse to get my sewing machine out and remember how to use it and perhaps be inspired to embark on other fun projects.  So to get started, Bex and I made a pillow.  Four straight lines, remember how to thread the machine… I could handle that.  and he thinks I’m totally great.

I was all set so I wouldn’t look like a complete idiot at quilt group.  And check out what day one produced!

I was so proud.  I mean, look!  The corners all line up and everything!  Lest you think I actually have domestic skills, let me put you in your place.  A lovely group of expert quilters have come up with a pattern, purchased, cut and prepared all of my fabric and I just have to go and do what they tell me.  I learned a lot our first time together- I knew ironing was vital but I learned new tricks.  And the ladies are lovely, I love visiting with them while I create my masterpieces.  Once a month we’ll get together and make a little more progress and in the meantime I like Bernina again and we may venture into new territory…

What a fun mom! Starwars even! Bex looks like a pretty happy boy. Love your quilt project. There is something so fun about sewing and completing. It is so hard when you are finished because you will NEED another project. It's addicting in a good way.

I haven't blogged in so long that I keep looking for a thumbs up. Anyway, TWO thumbs up. I'm so glad you are learning to do this and that you love it.
