pronounciation: edited to add

We've been reading fairy tales around here lately. The latest is Handsome and Gretel. Oh, I mean Hansel and Gretel. No matter how many time I try to correct them, it reverts back to Handsome. It started with Cooper and Seneca quickly picked up the mistake. Even Bex calls him Handsome. Oh well, maybe he was.

Mom is doing fitness challenge and that means limited goodies in the house. They've finished off any cookies and such we had around a while ago and I haven't gotten any more so granola bars and popsicles are about as "treat" as it gets around here. One of everyone's favorites, however, is Patella. Oh, I mean nutella. we've enjoyed a little with strawberries and bananas and they think I'm the world's greatest mom. Doesn't patella mean knee cap? "mmm, mom, I love patella!"

Cooper's race suit came in the mail yesterday. Jammers on little boys legs may be my new favorite thing. And yes, of course they make him faster. edited: tonight when I was putting Cooper to bed, he said in his prayer, "and please help me swim super fast in my new black swimsuit." Then he told me that as he was swimming freestyle today, he wondered about the tempacles in the water. Tempacles? Chemicals. Another one I try to correct and it's always tempacels. Kind of a mash between tentacles and chemicals. Coop is always curious about the chemicals in pool water.

And an unrelated question of the day: we are in the market for a new vacuum. We've had a fabulous one for 11 years... aunt Mel gave it to us for our wedding and it has lasted and been great, but it's rebelling when it has to cover this much carpet. Do you have one you love? Suggestions please!

I have been looking for one also. I am going to stay with one that uses a bag. Not the ones that have a dirt catcher that pulls out and you can empty. We learned on Harrie's new vac, that if you try to clean, or rinse, the container and happen to get water in the wrong hole, EEEEEWWW it develops the most horrible oder that will hang around for a LOOOONG time.
Just FYI

My solution? Don't try and vacuum the whole freakin' house at once! LOL

Or another, GET HARDWOOD FLOORS!!!!!!

tempacles makes me a little nervous. at least he wasn't praying for his tempacles to help him swim faster. i have a bissell i quite like. it's bag less, and while i was witness to the horrid smell in harrie's vac, i've never experienced that in mine, i think they're easier to clean and empty. i have heard miracles about that dyson however...

I'm sure Mel will have a serious opinion on the vac. I have a lot of friends who love the Dyson. We have a central vac so I don't have any good advice on that one.

We just got a Dyson and really like it a lot. We were the family that bought the cheap vacuum about once a year thinking we were saving money. Dysons cost quite a bit, but we won't be buying another vacuum for a very long time. Also I was impressed with the cleaning. I couldn't believe how much it picked up the first time I used it...and I was letting my kids play on those floors! :) That would be my recommendation.

By the way, love your blog!

Yup yup, the Dyson! The only complaint is the hose is a little odd to use. So, if you like to vacuum your edges a lot and have stairs, which you don't have stairs do you?, then it can be a bit hard on the back. But, other than that, we love ours! It can keep up with our dog and Dylan and man, those 2 together...that's enough to sell ya!

I love my Dyson. I think I have the DC17 animal. I figured if it can clean up animal hair than it has a chance at keeping up with my kids. I bought it at Costco in case I didn't like it. - You can always return anything to Costco. Anyways, I LOVE it.

My kids were asking about playing with you guys. We need to get together again.

We have a Dyson. It works. I'm sure the kirby man would love to come to your house and give you a demonstration.

I am a huge fan of our bright red Miele vaccuum. It is amazing! We had had it 5 yrs and it is fantastic. Here's the link: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=122285

Also, add Charlotte's Web to your reading list. Just started it with Jack and it's a big hit.

my brother bought a remanufactured Dyson Ball and it was way cheaper, but still works great. I sooo want one, but my little $50 Dirt Devil will have to suffice for now.
