I officially declare this the month of no complaining!
It’s time to focus on our blessings.
October’s General Conference brought this message:
My brothers and sisters, do we remember to give thanks for the blessings we receive? Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of heaven and helps us feel God’s love.
In the Book of Mormon we are told to “live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which [God] doth bestow upon you.” Alma 34:38.
- Pres. Monson
I'm not aware of anyone who doesn't want blessings. I also believe that feeling and expressing gratitude for the ones we have will simply bring about more.
And I'm not one to turn blessings away!
You remember what to do. Put away your complaining for the month and notice the blessings all around you. Share them on your blog if you so desire, or in a more private place, but record them, feel gratitude for them, and then be ready for heaven to pour down more!
Do it with your children, spend time each day teaching them how to notice the amazing things they have been blessed with.
Let them be little, or big. Let them be terribly profound or terribly frivolous. If it is a blessing to you, it is worth being grateful for. I'll be back later to record my Day One gratefuls... and I can't wait to read yours! Let me know if you're participating so I can check in... I love that, you know.
